As we entered the park pretty early, there were only a couple of people here, so we were able to see it in all its glory. In our opinion, this is much better than the famous Lake Louise in Banff National Park. The views are...More

St. Mary Lake was beautiful beyond words! This lake is a lovely turquoise color and the water is very clear. We hiked along it's edge and took a wonderful boat ride on it.

We took every boat tour offered. The boats are the beautiful, genuine historic boats used for generations. They have been lovingly kept in first-class condition and are driven by delightful, competed captains. Each tour was unique and added to our understanding of Glacier National Park....More

Saint Mary Lake is the second-largest lake in Glacier National Park, after Lake McDonald. It's located on the east side of the park, and as you drive along the Going-to-the-Sun Road, you will also be driving along it's northern shore. Saint Mary Lake's waters are...More

We took the boat tour of St. Mary's Lake. GREAT! Great tour guides-Matt and Ben I believe. Lots to see, think more than Lake McDonald tour.

Hi, I remember it being a tad longer than a mile, but perhaps you can google map the distance. If you are really early and it is calm - awesome shots! I have it as a screen saver on my phone!
