The sky was clear, the air was crisp, and the sun appeared on the horizon as scheduled. For the next 45 minutes, the colors became more and more brilliant in the canyon. It has been said many, many times, but sunrise at the Grand Canyon...More

We didn't stop at sunset but I understand why people recommend you do so. Lipan point provides sweeping views of the Canyon. Worth a short stop along your Desert View Drive

It’s a little hard to describe the views of the Grand Canyon except to say they are breathtaking. We were very fortunate to have spectacular weather and no crowds at all. A must see.

Lipan Point has good views of the canyon and give you plenty of opportunities to get pictures without people in the way.

Here at Lipan, visitors can get several views of the Colorado River from Grand Canyon's rim. Such views are unique in the Canyon. Look for the rapids (though you won't see the three-story fall the river makes) and the delta which was once farmed.

Lipan Point has the widest views of The Colorado River. Take a short walk to your right, and you will feel as if you have the place all to yourself.

You can see the Colorado river clearly at this view point. Don't just look down from the fence. If you walk a little bit to the right, there is an area where you can sit on the rock and appreciate the view with less people.

We took a guided bus tour and enjoyed it very much. i recommend going this route as you can focus on the sight seeing and not on the driving and parking.
