If you are here do the loop. Get out where you can, most stops are well marked and all are fairly easily accessed. The views change as you move around the park.

The GTNP loop road is well worth traveling, even if you don’t do the entire loop or stop to hike one of the trails. There are so many pull-overs and parking places -- you can get great views of the amazing way the Tetons seem...More

Very much enjoyed this drive and the magnificent view of the Grand Tetons. Other than the view, our main objective was sighting wildlife. No bears or moose, but we did encounter a herd of elk during their rut season. Be sure to stop on the...More

The mountains are breathtaking and well worth the time to make the drive. Be prepared to stop to view wildlife or take pictures. You won't regret it.

What can I say more than the title? Visiting Grand Teton, you must take the loop. Enjoy all of the many turn offs. Relax, take your time and look at God's country.

I can't answer all of your points but I think it's too much. I think it's around 30 minutes drive to the Grand Tetons from Jackson Hole. I wouldn't do the whole 42 miles, I would do the section that is closer to the... More

Our family of 7 went the 1st week of June. Many U.S. schools are still in session. We did not come across many elementary aged kids & families. There were still plenty of people but probably not peak crowds. The snow... More

The elevation of nearby Jackson, Wyoming is about 6,300 feet above sea level. Jenny Lake which is on the loop is about 7,000 feet. And the lake is adjacent to the Grand Tetons. I figure as long as you do not drive up... More
