It is a loop of about 20 miles off newfound gap but worth taking it Specially if you are there around sunset time It will be just excellent view

The tower is closed for renovations at this time. Still great vistas from the parking area at base of walk towards the lookout tower..

The Clingmans Dome road itself is listed at seven miles from route 441...from the NFG parking lot to Clingmans Dome road is about 300 feet. Ray
