This is a challenging section of the cave where you have to squeeze through a winding trench of rock. The ceiling is also low in spots. It was very exciting.

One of the features of the trip through Mammoth cave is a winding, twisting part that requires you to travel sideways and can be a little slippy so be very careful.

As a kid coming here I remembered this as being very difficult to navigate thru. It is still a tough place to go thru, but very doable - unless you are very tall like me, or very big. I saw a young man with a...More

As a fat woman, I was a bit hesitant about this stretch of the cave. You do have to walk sideways and ducked down, but as long as the line moves alone, it wasn't too bad. I did start to feel a bit claustrophobic once...More

It's on one of the two excursions took at the park. The park is not to describe. You need to go see for yourself

Fat Man's Misery was a fun part of the Historic Cave tour. There are places where your tour group goes through in single file and must maneuver carefully some of the nearby cave formations.

It's hard work. The path is about a foot wide, with uneven flooring. You have to walk sideways to get through the serpentine pathway. Lead with your left hip, then lead with your right. It's a real feeling of accomplishment when you're through it!

Was very fun but plan on being nimble on your feet. I am a large guy but was able to get through with minimum problems.

This historic tour didn't bother my claustrophobic husband, but he did hit his head a couple of time through the low ceiling areas. My husband and I are in our 60's. the biggest challenge of this tour was walking up the... More
