The only way to get to the Mt. Chapin trailhead is by driving up the gravel Fall River Road (which may be closed for repairs). This road is very scenic but slow-going and one-way (up) so if you start to drive up and change your mind about the hike you will have a very long drive to get back down.... More

Mount Chapin is a fantastic hike, even if you only hike it partway and don't bag the peak. The hike begins at the Chapin Creek trailhead, about 7 mles up the Old Fall River (one-way, dirt) Road. Parking is scarce by mid-day, so start looking for spots when you see cars accumulate on the left hand side of the road... More
