This is not a park to visit without a boat. We did one of the hikes that is accessible if you don't have one, and while gorgeous, it is nothing compared to being on the water. We camped on the peninsula near the Rock Garden. Besides a 4 mile hike to the overlook we hiked around the Rock Garden. One... More

We were extremely disappointed in our recent stay at Voyageur Park Lodge. The people running the place were very nice, but nice can't cover up everything. The cabin didn't appear to see any maintenance for some time. The vinyl floor was curled up around the edges which made a great place for the mice to hide. When we asked for... More

We are visiting all of the National Parks and therefore included Voyageurs. It is a good visit. Most of the visiting sites are from the water, but there are some hiking trails near by. The park attracts lots of fishermen and boater and just people who want a relaxing vacation.

We rented a house boat from Ebel's. It was fantastic, but very pricey. Once in a lifetime ordeal. There were many things that we should have done to save $$$ but hindsight is always 20/20. Voyageur National park is very beautiful but I expected it to be more secluded and not so many people everywhere. Huge lakes with tons of... More

Only accessible by boat or snow mobile, the Kabetogama Peninsula is central to Voyageurs National Park. It has dock systems to tie up your boat safely while you explore and hike and pause for wildlife! I suggest lodging at a Lake Kabetogama Resort or camping on an island for best access. Your best bet to see Moose in the park... More

As far as I know, there is no way to move on this peninsula. No trails, roads, no walking amoung the rain forst. Rent a boat (be careful lots of rocks) and hope you make it. Canoes would be risky as the winds can be high.

This area is amazing. We stayed at an RV spot at Arrowhead Lodge. The owner, Larry was very cordial and the next day took us on a boat tour of the area that just had us going wow all day. He was a great guide and his equipment was nice. We felt right at home as he took us on... More

We stayed at Ken Pederson's Grand View Lodge cabins on the lake. With free use of paddle boats and a canoe we had a ball. Rowed out and around several islands, swam in the lake, then enjoyed time on the dock. We also took several ranger led boat tours. Going to the Ehterson Gardens and Locator Lake are musts.

We have been to VPL twice - pure enjoyment. Extremely private - only 10 cabins on the whole peninsula. Cabins are very nice - with complete accommodations: kitchen, full bath, sitting area - NEW BEDS! Scenery magnificent. Casey & Anna are a dream to work with. Launch your boat; clean & package your fish - even have a bait &... More

When we hear the word Peninsula, we think of a land of body surrounded by water on 3 sides, right? Well, in Voyageurs National Park the Kabetogama Peninsula is accessible only by water! Sandwiched by Rainy Lake to the North and Kabetogama Lake to the south, we love boating to and exploring the Kab Pennisula. On the south shore, The... More
