We drove through the park and it was jammed, no parking, just shuttles with crowds. It's certainly best to find a hotel outside the park and plan on shuttling everywhere. The Park is magnificent and it deserves several days to see the many unique geological...More

My husband and I actually "ran" this trail (we definitely had to take some walk breaks). The scenery from start to finish was beautiful. It was challenging, but not a killer hike. Be prepared to climb quite a bit during the first half and then...More

We did the East Rim Trail backwards. We started in the National Park and hiked to the East Entrance! What an amazing hike. Unique views and absolute silence. I reccomend doing it early in the morning as the last part is quite sun exposed. :)

We only made it four miles before we hit mud that was, for me, unpassable - it actually sucked my shoe off! But the part we did was beautiful! Hope to go back some day and hike the whole thing.

I hiked the East Rim whilst doing the Observation Point hike. The part of the East Rim trail I was on was lovely with great view at the end on observation point. Mainly in the sun so be prepared.

I am a local and I consider this to be the best trail in Zion National Park. There are some logistical factors to consider if you want to do the entire trail. Using two vehicles, one at trail's head and one at trail's end seems...More

We explore the East Rim Trail (road to trail head is near East Entrance Station – north side of road). The short road ends at a small dirt parking lot. The East Rim Trail goes for more than 10 miles (to Weeping Rock). We hike...More

I was pretty hesitant about doing this hike. It is long (11 miles) with lots of elevation gain (1,000) and loss (2,300). I read the reviews and got the facts. Ultimately, decided it would be stretching my limits but didn’t want to be left out...More
