Even if you can't hike at Zion due to time, the drive in from the west entrance down into the canyon and back out through Springdale is spectacular. Going through the LONG tunnel then driving down the winding roads is breathtaking. Zion is an absolutely...More

The drive is amazing, the colors of the landscape are simply amazing and photo's do not help to display the natural beauty. However, you will get extremely annoyed stuck behind someone who is clearly trying to let their passenger take photos. Be considerate, pull over...More

We had about 4 hours to do something in Zion when we visited on our way elsewhere. So we couldn't dedicate hours to a hike, strenuous or not. This scenic drive is done on a free, air conditioned bus that makes multiple stops along the...More

Taking the shuttle is cool and all, but take the private roads to drive your own vehicle on too! Even though they don't go as deep into the park, the scenery is fantastic. Most of these roads go tight through the park and out to...More

The canyon has a wonderful view. I really enjoyed our trip here. Early June is the perfect time to g here - not too hot, and not too cold. A must trip!

We drove from the West Gate. The drive from there to the visitors center offers a stunning view from above. Have your cameras, smart-phones and videos handy and rolling as plenty interesting land formations welcome you on the way down. Expect busy traffic and cramped...More

We have been through Zion before, and although we did not take time this year to stop, hike or picnic, we drove slowly thru and marveled again at the incredible rock formations and colors in this amazing park. Kodak moments around every corner. July is...More

This park is absolutely beautiful. One of the most scenic drives we have ever seen. I videoed the whole drive from the gate to the visitor parking. Just couldn't find an area to turn the camera off. Nineteen minutes of gorgeous views! Highly recommend.

The views are fabulous on the drive through the park. Even if you don't have time to adequately explore this beautiful National Park, at least take a couple of hours to drive through the park and take photographs.

The drive has some spectacular scenery and very unusual rock formations and patterns. It's not that long but there are many places to stop along the way and the traffic moves very efficiently. It's a great drive going either way. It has the longest tunnel...More

I am planning to bike on the "Zion Canyon Scenic Drive" with my 7 and 9 years old kids in June. I googled and found out "Zion Cycles" in Springdale. My question is from which point we should do biking in a safe way for my kids. And Where exactly does Zion Canyon Scenic Drive start and end?

You can find a map on the NPS (dot) gov (slash) Zion website. Links cannot be shown here for some unknown reason. Zion Canyon Scenic Drive starts at the South entrance of the Park and heads north for about 6.5 miles.
We don't plan to do any hiking and will basically have just the afternoon from approx.12noon - 6pm on sunday, May 21st in Zion NP. 1.What are our chances of getting parking (at noon) at the park entrance, near the visitor's center? I understand the Scenic drive is shuttle only, right now! 2. wondering if you have any tips/suggestions in what order to 'view' the scenic drive... getting off and on the shuttle. eg: ride to the end of the route (temple of Sinawava) and then return back getting off at each stop to view and visit?
