I love coming into Zion from the East side. Checkerboard Mesa is beautiful and very fun to climb and scramble over there Mountain sides. There's a nice hike to overlook the valley just before you enter the tunnel. The tunnel is amazing. I remember as a kid being able to stop and park the car in the middle of the... More

I had visited Zion back in 2005 but arrived from Vegas so we never went to the western part of the park where this is located. I had no idea it exsisted until we drove from Bryce Canyon to Zion this year and it took us this way. Not really sure how we missed it last time but we were... More

The Zion-Mount Carmel Highway or route 9 from the East Entrance of the Zion park to the South Entrance is one of if not the most spectacular drives in American - bar none ! Or in reverse. The rock formation, colors, the switchbacks on the Western side and of course the tunnels are a sight to behold. If you do... More

We spent the day in Zion Canyon and drove this route to get to our next overnight stop at the Buffalo Bungalow in Glendale. The route includes a tunnel, a good few hairpin bends and some really picturesque scenery. Well worth the effort.

Jaw Dropping Scenery if this will be your first visit ... Next, you will want to come back time and time again The drive up and down the canyon, the ride through the amazing tunnel with its windows, the red and white rock formations to the west, spotting desert bighorns, and the Checkerboard Mesa ... Biggest problem is deciding how... More

We were travelling by coach, which was driven by our very competent driver, Tristan, and so there was nothing to fear. The approach along Mount Carmel Highway, afforded us beautiful views and we saw several long horned sheep for the first time on our visit to The States. At the tunnel, we had to wait for the tunnel to be... More

My friends and I took the shuttle ride through that part of Zion. While efficient, it was hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. They are not air conditioned and our visit was late October. The funny thing was this. I had such a great memory of having visited Zion with my late husband many years ago. I was eager to re-take the... More

Be sure and take this drive. The switchbacks up to the tunnel are easy and the views are great. Be sure and stop along the way.
