This trail begins at the east side of the Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel on the popular Canyon Overlook Trail, and then heads up the mountainside after the culmination of that easy and short hike. It has great views of the east side of the park and often the Bighorn Sheep are seen along the way.

The East Temple is a spectacular landmark in Zion that can be seen either up close or at a great distance. There are also hikes - one called East Temple Saddle, that skirts the mountain and begins at the popular Canyon Overlook Trail. The other East Temple Summit.

Most visitors will just look at the enormous East Temple from the road, but a few will scamper along the East Temple Saddle Route and even fewer will climb the East Temple Route.
