If you like waiting for an hour to pass thru the tunnel one way because it's so outdated it can't accommodate big motor homes or similar, then good for you. Personally I would rather spend that time in the Park.

If you come in via Route 9, the eastern entrance, you will go through this tunnel. The real reason to do this to enjoy the views on the Zion-Mount Carmel road, which takes you to the main road through the canyon.

A drive through this very long tunnel is punctuated with several brief "windows" and breaks in the tunnel along the way. What a tease on the way to your destination! This tunnel is quite an engineering feat. Enjoy in anticipation of your visit to Zion!

It's a long dark tunnel where your headlights are required. It is a masterpiece of design. You may not be able to park at the tunnel entrance since the lot is tiny. Past the tunnel you see soaring sandstone cliffs.

Its a tunnel. Fun to drive through. They only let vehicles through one direction at a time, but beautiful views to look at while you are waiting. Gets you to more beautiful Zion views.

This tunnel is a little longer than one mile and was constructed in 1930. The effort to create this masterpiece, which allows access to the Park from the East entrance, must have been a incredible effort considering the equipment available at the time.

Our family loved every minute of this GORGEOUS drive. Worth stopping at the Overlook trail (& watching bighorn). As at all national parks, we're glad to carry water, sunblock, snacks & rollup broad-brim hats.

I loved driving this section of highway. Saw big horn sheep, mule deer. Definitely was not expecting the series of switchbacks that take you to the Canyon floor. Magnificent drive.
