The Zion - Mt. Carmel tunnel is 1.1 miles long and is narrow and since there are no lights, except for a couple of large windows, it is very dark. Due to being narrow there are restrictions on the width, length and height of vehicles...More

There are two tunnels on the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway (UT9) between Springdale and the east entrance to the park. One is very short, but the longer one is 1.1 miles, and when it was completed in 1930 it was the longest tunnel of its type...More
