We stopped to have a look on our way out. It's really cool and worth a picture, on your way in/out of Zion you could stop at every corner and take amazing pictures without even trying. This area is just jaw-dropping.

Was on the way so we stopped. Not really worth going out of your way to se it. At first wasn't even sure we were looking at the right thing.

Well worth stopping and admiring as you enter the park, because it is "one of a kind", nothing as intricate elsewhere in the park.

Zion National Park is spectacular. Red, Orange, Yellow, and Gray rock walls rising thousands of feet from the valley floor. the sedimentary layering and erosion patterns make this unique from anywhere else on the earth. Learn about the geology of the area before you go,...More

Many points in the Park have interesting formations and features. This is one of the largest ones. Nearby is a slot Canyon that one needs a permit and instruction before attempting to hike it.

This "attraction" is on the Zion - Mt. Carmel Highway inside Zion National Park, not far from the east gate to the park. This rock formation of vertical and horizontal cracks is not something you see everywhere but it is not the only example of...More

Beautiful and unique scenery, great walking areas, we loved it. you can park on pull over areas nearby if parking lot is full, as it is small.

Best pictures are when the lighting is right...get the checkerboard colors. Only one parking lot, rest is odd spots along the road to pull out. Couple of trails in area.

This isn't an attraction per se, but a geologic formation along the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway (UT9) in the southeast corner of the park. It's located about .5 mile west of the east entrance to the park. There are a couple of small pull-outs if you...More

This is a very interesting formation, and you can see why they call it "checkerboard". It was especially nice to see it highlighted with snow.
