First time seeing these brown rocks and there were many tourists crowding round to take pictures. 2 viewing points and not very well maintained. Our local driver brought us there after Yin Yang Sea and before we made our way to Jiufen Old Street for lunch. To spend just 15 minutes there would be perfect. Anything longer might be plenty.

We made a brief stop here after spending most of the day in Jiufen and Jinguashi. If you are driving, be sure to take the route back to Tapei along the road that travels right by this waterfall. The water is gold-like in color due to to way it interacts with the underground elements. A quick 10-minute stop at best.

Unique and free. When you pass-by Yilan, make a pit-stop here to snap some photos. There's a temple nearby worth visiting too, you will not miss it as there is a big Guan Gong bronze statue on top of it. There's also a gold mining museum nearby, on the same hill I should say, visit if you have time.

Its nothing much to see except the waterfall. We were told that when the sun is above, around noon, you can see the gold glitters. Otherwise, nothing much

We were on a bus tour to Jiufen. Although our driver lost a tourist on Jishan Street and we lost time relocating her, we could still see this waterfall at a good time in the day, to capture her golden (yelllow) beauty.

We visited the Golden Waterfall en-route to Jiu Fen ols street. The waterfall's name came from its golden coloured looks due to the mining of gold in the area since the past. The river bank has this chemical reaction and is golden since then till now. You may also catch the "Yinyang" sea before you arrive the Golden Waterfall. Very... More

We were very exciting about the golden waterfall but sadly we were really disappointed with the whole thing- getting there is complicated and for some reason we couldn't understand this natural attraction was extremely popular. Don't get me wrong it was still very pretty but for us not worth the trip.

Apparently this Golden Waterfall Colour of Gold is caused by the natural Colours of the rocks that contain metal minerals. Good to take some pictures and enjoy the view but it's kinda out of the way. So if you have time and spare cash to hire a cab to come then it's fine :). It's about 10 mins drive from... More
