The beaches are as white as snow with very fine grains of sand. The waters are emerald green; thus this area's nickname the "Emerald Coast". A place everyone should put on their bucket list.

While vacationing in Santa Rosa Beach our family had hoped to visit multiple areas of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. However tropical storm Cindy changed our plans and limited our visit to the Naval Live Oaks Area. We had hoped to visit Fort Pickens and...More

Even though tropical storm Cindy tried to ruin this visit -- we still live it here! It's gorgeous and relaxing. I hope to retire here or near here.

By far, one of my favorite beaches in the country. This place is clean, quiet, and just plain peaceful. I've been out here when there wasn't another human around and it's just wonderful. The farther out you drive, the fewer people you will see.

I love being able to see the beach as it is suppose to be - high sand dunes, nesting areas for Terns (a shore bird), stretches where, if you are willing to walk far enough, you can make the first footprints... I am thankful for...More

The area has a 7 mile scenic drive with ocean views on one side and bay on the other. The dunes are throughout the stretch and the speed limit is max 35. Really a nice ride.

We'll be staying at Destin at Miramar beach. Want to know a good day trip to see beautiful secluded white beach. And swim and snorkel.

A little west of Destin is Gulf Islands National Seashore. It is definitely secluded, and the sand is soft and white. Because there are picnic shelters and bathrooms, you could spend a day here if you wanted to. I was... More
