About
This beach, located on Santa Rosa Island, is a popular spot for anyone seeking fun in the sun. With its soft sands and clear waters, the beach is perfect for swimming, paddle boarding, or learning to surf. You can also go fishing by the pier, stroll along the Portofino Boardwalk's shops, or embark on the ‘Footprints in the Sand’ eco trail. Join a dolphin-watching tour or, if you're feeling adventurous, take a powerboat tour or paddle a glowing kayak. The best time to visit is in the spring or fall when the weather is mild and the crowds are thinner. – Tripadvisor

Shhh! Let’s keep the best beach in the Southeast US a secret.
Pensacola Beach is our favorite beach in the 48 sates. Located in the heart of the Emerald Coast, these soft white sand beaches of the Emerald Coast can’t be found anywhere else. The water was so clear this week , and I never tire of looking at the emerald green and deep blue colors of the sea. Pensacola Beach has many nice resorts and condos in walking distance of the several unique seafood restaurants and bars. All the restaurants are very good, each with it’s own unique menu and vibe. Great beach for families with less traffic and crowds. If Casino Beach gets too crowded for you, it’s a short walk or ride west to Fort Pickens beaches, or east to the Gulf Islands National seashore beaches.

Go past the crowded area... drive 10 min more to find nice beaches
We flew into Pensacola and decided to spend the day at Pensacola Beach before traveling on to Alabama. when you cross the bridge to get into Pensacola Beach, there's a lot of action, lots of people, cars you'll see the beach ball that says Pensacola on it, restaurants , etc. keep driving past that . we were just exploring and thought that was the only place to go but after driving about 10 minutes more you get into beautiful areas with little parking areas on the right hand side and it's free and safe and then you can just go on to the beach and have lots of space to yourself. people were friendly. The beach was beautiful and more beautiful than Gulf Shores and orange Beach, by the way, and there were no houses or anything interrupting your view. we really enjoyed Pensacola Beach.

We have not been to the beach in years. I guess now after Covid everyone is coming out of the woodwork and fails to respect others around. It seemed that everyone had to play their music louder than the person next to them.

Also, I never understand why you have to pay to visit any piers in Florida, maybe ask for donations or charge people who want to stay on it for the whole day like fishing, It was over $2 per person to walk on it, I know that doesn't sound like a lot but if you have 4 family members and walk up and down you close to burning $10.

I saw clean-up crews working hard to keep the beach clean and the trash can empty. Also if you have smaller kids there are parts of the beach where people are not supposed to bring alcohol, We saw some drunks in our area and it wasn't even late yet. In addition, we smelled some funny stuff being smoked on the beach as well. All this and three stars out of five. We love the beach what can I say and hopefully this review will help some choosing where to stay on the beach. We stayed close to the Hampton Inn but all that was written above did not take place there but between there and the Pier.

This property is listed on travel sites such as Expedia, VRBO, and several others as: Steps2Beach~GulfView~Pool~3BR Palm Beach Club 235

I just stayed there this past weekend (9 to 13 March 2023) and the main feature of the balconies overlooking the Gulf of Mexico was the main reason I selected this property when booking. Unfortunately, to my disappointment upon arriving, I learned that the balconies have not been operational for 3 months and will remain in a state of non-use for approximately 6 more months. This was never disclosed at the time of booking and photos listed on the website do not depict this.

The photos on travel websites for this property should be updated to show that the balconies are inaccessible and the current condition of them while construction is taking place. I have plenty of photos to share that depicts what the balcony looks like in reality, to include being awoken at 8:00am with construction workers on the master bedrooms balcony. There were also construction workers outside the plate glass window for the master bathroom, which prevented privacy when using the toilet or shower. I contacted the property management group and of course was informed that in the very small print of the conditions of rental they placed a statement that there was general construction taking place on site. At no time did they divulge that areas of the property paid for would be off-limits and that your space would be intruded on by construction workers.

Check in was easy, even given a military discount I did not expect. King room with Bayside view and balcony. Early check in granted. Room was large with king bed and small kurig with supplies. Free wifi. No smart tv so stuck watching local channels. No comforters, just a light blanket. No digital thermostat so had to guess on settings so either too hot or too cold.. No room service due to covid but texted to get clean towels, etc. Bathroom had large walk in shower but no permanent shower head, just sprayer that you had to hold to use as was at an awkward angle to shower under. The sink was pretty but not practical for rinsing anything out in. No microwave to heat up leftovers, did have a dorm size refrigerator. Staff very friendly and attentive. Land Shark Landing was closed during our stay and pool closed at 10:00 along with all food and bar services. Beach was wonderful right out the door but charge of $15 per hour for chairs a little high. We did think ahead to bring our own. Kids playing in pool had 2 inflatable boats with paddles they took over the pool and parents let them ??? Slightly disappointed in price for value.

Pensacola Beach did not disappoint- the water and sand are beautiful, love seeing everybody having a great time, the restaurants are struggling a little with lack of staff but handling it very well. Definitely a very special beach with miles of white sand, plenty of beach for everyone and parking never an issue. We live in South Florida and it’s always such a struggle to find parking at the beach that half the time we end up going back home. Love Pensacola Beach!!!

We rented a condo for a cousins weekend. It was on the end of Pensacola Beach, before Navarre beach so there was limited traffic. We found lots of shells on the beach. We found expected tourist pricing in the gift shop we visited but found some great bargains at both of the Alvin's Islands we visited. Since it is the off season, we had no problem with crowds or traffic.

This beach is easily among my most favorite Florida beaches! This beach is highly underrated and it hopefully stays that way to not get more crowded. The parking lot and the beach access are free. I love to walk on the beach to see various nice hotels, apartment buildings, homes, bars, and restaurants. The sand is white and powdery; it is so soft and it squeaks when a person walks on it. I have seen various marine-life in the water, and the water is a gorgeous emerald green shade. Please be sure to wear sunscreen as the sun is no joke! There are parts of the beach with lifeguards, and there are showers and bathrooms. In order to get to Pensacola Beach from the city of Pensacola, people may enter through the toll road which has Gulf Breeze in between. There are also many souvenir stores near the beach.

I would consider this rated at the very top of the vacation destination stops, especially in off season when most outdoor water activities are closed. The beach was combed regularly and the sand was super white. Watching the waves crash in made for great background in family photos. Thanks for keeping it clean, Florida!

I grew up in Pensacola and visited the beach regularly. Now we stay at the beach when we come back to visit family. We noticed that the beach was dirtier this time than we’ve ever seen it. Leftover food containers, wrappers, etc. it was really sad to see it in this shape. Nevertheless, I love the beach and the sunrises and sunsets and calm, relaxing sounds of the waves crashing on the shore. Please step up the cleaning efforts!

Recently read that this beach is one of Top20 highest rated beaches in the USA. Despite the awesome white sand and turquoise water, I found it rather disappointing. No trees or anything else, just rather unattractive residential buildings and very ugly hotels in the back front.
Good thing: you can walk for miles and miles on the beach. Especially beautiful in the early morning when it’s still peaceful and quite, before the crowds are invading

Pensacola is a city with a blend of many cultures. Five flags have flown over the city since the early Spanish explorers arrived on its shores. Before that, native Americans flourished here. Both before and after the Civil War, African Americans contributed to the culture. Fort Pickens which saw first saw action in the Civil War was built mostly by enslaved workers from New Orleans. It once housed the Apache chief, Geronimo. Pensacola Museum of History showcases the diversity of Pensacola’s 450+ year history. Historic Pensacola Village preserves homes of the rich and famous as well as the poor and little known.
