I am a rebreather diver and after a couple of emails these guys arranged everything I needed to dive.
They were really easy to communicate with and the dives I did with them were great. We saw Eagle Rays, Turtles and beautiful coral.
The business is really well ran and can cater for divers wishing to begin their training through to deep technical diving too. I would whole heartedly recommend them and will hopefully get to come back and dive with them again.
Thank you for helping to make my Rarotonga trip so memorable.

We had 4 wonderful diving trips with Carina and Gary on a versatile boat, riding the waves like a rollercoaster for free, so much fun to us!
We were lovely been taken care of from the warm welcome by Patrick, over the refresher dive to all of our diving trips, where we, as diving beginners, always had the feeling to be in competent hands.
Adventure Cook Islands took us to different diving spots, they know their area very well and were absolutely sensitive about not to harm the breathtaking underwater world.
We saw so many different fishes and also turtels and we afterwards always had patient partners to ask about what we have seen under water.
We definitely recommend Adventure Cook Islands 👌

Best dive shop on the island. Myself and three friends spent three days, six dives with Patrick and Gary exploring the south and western parts of the island. Only shop to access the best diving with the boat launching off the beach. Fantastic, professional and knowledgeable of the complete island. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks again

Great experience completing my advanced Padi certification!
Patrick took my training seriously and I learned several skills while being in a fun and relaxed environment. Really appreciated how much well run the dive shop was, the intimate group size and the expertise! One of the best dive instructors I’ve come across in my 15 years of diving.
Highly recommend!

Adventure Cook Island is a professional and experienced team that run a first rate operation. I was impressed with their local knowledge and how they used this to inform their decision making on a daily basis. Although we are qualified divers we are still inexperienced and not familiar with the local area, our dive instructor was a competent and experienced guide who inspired confidence and we felt supported and safe throughout our experience. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to dive in Rarotonga.

I have been diving with them for several years. They go the distance to provide what o consider a superior dive experience and I feel they are the best on the island.

A couple of us did a refresher with Carina in the lagoon on our first day, which was really good.
Three of us had booked a 2 dive boat trip for the next day. Unfortunately, the sea and weather had turned quite bad during the night.
Patrick had options of where to take us for some great dives and despite the very rough boat ride out and back the sea was really calm underneath and good visibility too. Plenty of sea life and we all had an awesome time.
Patrick, Carina and Gary - such a friendly professional team, Thanks for a great day diving.

Do all scooter companies charge renters insurance? Noted one company does which is more than the cost of the scooter and another doesn't mention it at all

Scooters are designed to have 2 riders. I observed many couples on them while visiting the island. There are a ton of hem as well, locals use them as petrol is expensive.

Kia Orana Priscilla,
We conduct the PADI open Water course in three full days. It involves two half days of classroom work, two half days of confined water training and two half days of open water dives off the boat (4 open water dives in total). The price is NZ$485 and includes everything. Prerequisites to participate in our open water course is to be medically fit and healthy, be a comfortable swimmer and you need to be experienced in snorkeling (using mask, snorkel and fins). Please let me know if you need any further information.
Kind regards,
Parick
Can a passenger ride on the back ( my kid riding on the back of mine?)
reef2see
Avarua, Cook Islands7 contributions
Hi, yes, as Meta4Calgary already said, children on the back are allowed in the Cook Islands. The only rule is that they have to sit behind the driver, and maximum 1 passenger per bike, no matter the age or size. Just keep in mind that you are responsible for your childs safety...
how old do you have to be to ride a scooter?
reef2see
Avarua, Cook Islands7 contributions
The legal age to ride a car or scooter in the Cook Islands is 16 years. Please be aware that most rental companies in the Cook Islands do not allow either under 18 year old, under 21 year old or under 25 year old to drive their rental vehicles, no matter whether it is a scooter or car. This has nothing to do with the law, it is about their rental contracts and insurance policies.
Also, this is important: you need to have a full motorcycle license (not just car license) in order to ride any motorized two wheeler (scooter or motorbike) in the Cook Islands. Foreign licenses are accepted in the Cook Islands and the full motorcycle license can be from any country (if not in english language, you should also have an international license as a translation of your national license). However, you cannot ride a scooter on a car license here. If you do not have a full motorcycle license in your home country, you will have to get your Cook Islands motorbike license in order to drive a scooter here. To get the license, you will first have to pass a practical skills test at the rental place. This is basically to sort out the ones that are experienced and know what they are doing from the ones that do not and shouldn't drive a scooter. After passing the skills test, the rental place can issue you with a temporary license that expires the day after issue at 12 pm. This should give you enough time to get you legally to the police station, where you will have to pass a 25 question theoretical test as well as another practical test before getting your full license.
Please note - the test at the rental place is a test, not a lesson. All rental companies should fail you if you are not 100% safe and know straight away what you are doing when you jump on the bike as you would be a danger to other road users as well as to yourself. Serious rental companies will only conduct the skills test with people that are experienced motorbike or scooter drivers. Remember, rental scooters in the Cook Islands are all between 100 and 125 cc, they are not small 50 cc scooters, they have a lot of power and in any other country you need a motorcycle license in order to drive them. The majority of road accidents in Rarotonga, apart for drink driving, are caused by tourists on scooters that are not experienced bike riders. We have a lot of dogs and other animals roaming around, as well as bad roads with sometimes many potholes. If you are not used to ride motorbikes or scooters, don't start it here.
Hi guys, I am currently planned on coming to Rarotonga for a holiday and am interested in the moped bike hire? What is the price and do I need to be on a license? Currently on a New Zealand Learner License

Hi!
Sorry for the late reply, I just came back from holidays...
Yes, in order to drive a scooter in Rarotonga you need to have a full motorbike license. If you do not hold a full motorbike license, you will have to get your Cook Islands motorbike license while you are here, where you have to pass a theoretical and practical test. Have you driven motorbikes or scooters before?
Our scooter rates ar:
1 day (24 hours) $27.00
2+ days $21.50 per day
1 week $110.00
Please let me know if you need any further information.
Kind regards,
Patrick
