The mansion was owned and built by a Scottish aristocrat who found his way to Ipoh to mine tin ore. He obviously made a fortune to be able to build a 'castle' according to European design. Though now in ruins as a result of World...More

Place of historical significance on the area, and reasonably maintained. Sadly, some "clowns" choose to graffiti their names/rubbish on the walls...why, it totally escapes me. However, the views here are lovely from up on the higher floors, although safety standards (particularly on the roof -a...More

It actually quite a niche place to explore. But as expected and very typical of Malaysians, a few branches have grown into the ceiling of one of the bedrooms, as well as mold, which might hasten the deterioration of the castle. The ground floor where...More

I love visiting the castle as I love something related to history or culture. As I read through the articles, I can somehow feel the sadness vibe and imagined that it would've been so magnificent if the place really made it as planned. Worth visiting....More

If you are in Ipoh, you definitely have to make a trip to Kellie's Castle. It gives you details on the history of the castle, how it was constructed this way, what happened to the owner and his family along the way and why it...More

On our road trip to Lumut from Ipoh, we decided to take a detour to see Kellie's Castle. We were not disappointed. It is rich in history and sufficiently documented to explain the history and person behind the castle. Unfortunately it was not completed. But...More

I love this place because its unique old built. Weather was hot, we were so sweating but taking picture was easy with this natural light.

Easiest way is to take a taxi. There is a bus coming in this area but it's a long and tedious journey despite not far from Ipoh.
