Lunan Bay is a brilliant asset for Angus in that it's absolutely stunning. Just a few miles from Arbroath and Montrose it's worth a visit regardless of the weather. There is good parking facilities now and a cafe you can grab lunch. The bay itself is untouched and very clean so if you take the dog there's no nasty surprises.

We hadn't been in years. It's a bit of a drive for us, but well worth it. Easy to get parked (out of season, I imagine it would be busy on a hot summers day). Nice to see a cafe had been built since our last visit (many years ago). Really beautiful place, we love the wee cave at the... More

You won't be disappointed with the views. What a lovely beach. First time I've been there and although it was February, we saw some young people going in for a paddle. It would be a great place for kids and I just love to be beside the seaside.

What an excellent place to go to with your family. Keeps kids amused for hours. However if having a picnic make sure the you keep the food wrapped unless you want to try it with sand.

This is my favourite beach anywhere. It looks spectacular and is lovely to visit in any weather. The beach is clean with wonderful soft sands. Lots of sand dunes for children and dogs to play. Have visited for years and it only ever gets better. The relatively new cafe is wonderful and serves delicious cakes and hot drinks ideal at... More

We visited whilst on holiday in Arbroath. It's a lovely sandy beach, it was winter so we had it to ourselves. The dog loved it. Bracing with lovely views. Apparently abundant in agates but we found none 😥

We were out for a leisurely drive one weekend and as we were passing quite nearby, decided to pay a visit to Lunan Bay. We parked the car and made our way down to the beach where we came across a viewing platform area. It was a bitterly cold late afternoon in mid January when we visited but nevertheless the... More
