I didn't know what to expect as I had only seen it on TV, but it amazing to see in real life and it was very moving. Everyone should visit and pay their respects to the miners.

Such a serene and beautiful memorial to the men and boys that lost their lives in the name of coal. They went to work and never came home. All they wanted to do was to provide for their families.

Top marks to the creator of this memorial to the tragedy on 28th June 1960. Sited in an impressive position looking over the town
