We were on vacation at Sandals and the resort got us a taxi service. The driver was wonderful--he took us to Nelson's Dockyard and to several other historical and regional attractions over a four-hour afternoon.

You can take one of the guided tours or head out on your own to walk the marinas surrounding this historic site, filled with yachts and sailboats from all over the world. There are several historic buildings to tour. There were a couple restaurants right on the water we chose The Admirals Inn. The Manager spent time with us discussing... More

Came as part of a cruise excursion. If you like boats you'll love the yachts that call here. Great hisory and lovely views. Be sure to stop in the bakery and indulge. Two of the buildings now have unique lodgings at a reasonable rate.

A trip around the Nelson's Dockyard was lovely, old houses (some rebuilt) like a museum, with pictures and old items from the old days. Shops for souveniers and restaurants, and lots of enormous yachts / sailboats.

Great afternoon, including lunch in the Dockyard itself and looking round the harbour. Definitely worth doing.

There is enough at Nelsons Dockyard to keep you busy for a few hours. Really interesting history together with good coffee or lunch. An unusual combination but definitely worth a visit.

Really enjoyed the walk around Nelson's Dockyard. Learnt a lot about Nelson and about the other parts of the Dockyard. Also enjoyed a couple of beers at the local bar.

Extremely interesting for anyone keen on British naval history, or 18th and 19th C history. The restoration of the Georgian boatyard has been done brilliantly. We stayed at the atmospheric Copper and Lumber Store hotel, which was a great success.
