In their day, forts were built for violence. I'm glad that in our day they have found positive use as beauty spots and places for historians to learn something about the way previous generations protected their homelands. Bermuda has taken their fortifications and turned them into parks for the enjoyment of all. Scaur Hill has magnificent views, explore the old... More

This was a cool, quick place to explore while I was in Bermuda. There were people there having a pirate picnic birthday party in the grass. There's a big canon there. The views are also pretty incredible with several benches for you to sit and relax while taking in all the surrounding beauty.

If you have extra time , Scaur Hill Fort Park is a great way to spend a couple of hours. Being located on a high hill, you can get some great views overlooking the ocean and Sandys Parsh, as well as just leisurely strolling through the park

We recently visited Sandy's Parish and Fort Scaur was a great find. Beautiful views and lovely place for a picnic. If you are into geo-caching, there is one located here which is an easy find. There are two trails from the park leading down to the Railway Trail which is absolutely beautiful. A really interesting mix of vegetation can be... More

There's no admission fee, the views are lovely, the park grounds are well kept, and there's plenty of wide open or shady places for a picnic. To see the "fort" area takes less than 30 minutes. A nice relaxing place.

One amazing thing about Bermuda is the extent of fortifications all over the island. Who knew it felt so vulnerable at the point of time in history that all these installations were built? It's a beautiful place, so perhaps they were right to keep their enemies worried. Ft. Scaur has a lovely location up hill on the most beautiful end... More

Went in July 2005. Its free. The panaramic view is spectacular, try to go on a sunny day. There really is not much to the fort, 1/2 an hour is enough. Adequate Clean washrooms but no other facilities, some benches, you could bring a picnic lunch.
