We made it on that bumpy road. Be warned! It is bumpy. The turn to the bay was covered by bushes, so look for a dirt road to the right along the paved highway. That is where you turn. We were disappointed we did not see turtles while snorkeling. The water was very calm. We were also too late (2:15)... More

We drove to Lac Cai on the north side of the bay. The waters near the mangroves are so many blues and greens it is awesome to see. There are small mountains of conch shells by the sea. We found a small 'restaurant' where we ordered the fresh fish and rice. The fish was cooked beautifully and reasonably priced for... More

This dive site is fantastic! The entry is super easy in very calm area near the bar/restaurant. The channel goes out/in170/350 around 20 ft or 7m deep. Strong current pushing out. The first thing you will notice are the never ending HUGE anemones! They are everywhere. Then in the right season (nov - feb) starfish! On this dive we got... More

Every Sunday you have locals playing live music! You can only get there by car but it is one of the things you must visit when you are on Bonaire!

We visited in the evening close to sunset. Clearly the windsurfers were having a great time weaving on Lac. There was also a flock of flamingos that flew by, truly a visual treat.

Each time we come to Bonaire we make it a point to visit Lac Cai on Sunday's for the live music and amazing food, especially the fish and Polar. This trip was no different except we were able to share this gem of the Caribbean with our granddaughters. We snorkeled, swam, listened to music and ate. Can't wait for our... More

Lac Cay is the hidden paradise. You have to believe that is possible to reach there by car, the see just hit the Rock thru a narrow passage. The place is amazing, I have the pleasure to see the biologists doing some study and protecting the turtles there. The place is also good for scuba diving. The Flamingo on the... More
