As this area is on the east side of the island, it's prone to being much more windy than other areas. If you're looking to just hang out on the beach (the bay and beaches are nice), that might be a bummer for you depending...More

We decided to try snorkeling at Lac Bay, This involved about a half hour walk in water two to four feet deep, against the strong current and waves coming in from the other side of the reef on the east side( windward side) of Bonaire....More

Interesting spot, so different from the West side. Good place for a picnic on the beach with a girl. Cold beers and soft drinks and restrooms ($.50) available at the building near entrance.

I would think between 20 and 30 minutes. Outside of the towns in Bonaire, the Speed Limit is 60 kmh, or about 40 m.p/h.

I also was not on a tour. If you really want to do your own thing I would rec renting a car or taking a taxi. If you want windsurfing Jibe City has all you need.
