Beautiful neighborhood

Miramar is one of the most beautiful barrios in cuba, the houses are simply astonishing, its really quite and peaceful, with the sea bordering one of the main avenues.

I actually found this part of Havana boring in comparison to the rest of it, a series of grand houses that were taken from their owners - or they fleed - and are now largely foreign embassies covering a huge area. If you want to visit, hire a cab as I wouldn't suggest covering it all on foot.

Easy to walk around with gorgeous homes near the sea. Absolutely beautiful area, quiet, magestic, with the stunning blue of the sea nearby. Take a convertible ride and slowly savor this barrio.

This boulevard is beautiful at night - either by convertible or a leisurely walk. Lots of activity but not crowded. Enjoy your time in Havana!

Miramar is where most of the embasies are located in Havana. I can say that it is quite different than the other parts of the city. It is totaly a safe area.If you are staying in one of a casa particular in Miramar with a big possibility your neighbour will be one of the embassies. For example along the 5th... More

This area is so different from the rest of Havana. It's broad road (Avenida 5), has benches and shrubs in the middle, and is flanked by beautiful mansions, which now house many embassies and their staff (so cars are not allowed to stop to take photos), so worth taking the time to walk around the area.

We took a tour of this area and I feel in love with the beauty. This is a more upscale area. Many of the consulates are located in this area. Some of the areas look just like Coral Gables. There is also a really beautiful park called Park Almendares. It was breathtaking. We were able to get a tour via... More

Miramar is a beautiful residential area that has several hotels and many embassies. Buses cannot drive down Fifth Avenue past the embassies, so take an old taxi convertible and enjoy.
