    An Interesting Stop
We decided to walk from our resort to Cueva de Ambrosio with our kids (age 7 & 9) as an activity for one of our resort days. The walk was about 1km, which was not too far. The walk was mainly in the sun and we chose to go in the morning when it wasn’t too hot. It is also possible to take the hop on/ hop off tour bus, especially if you are planning on heading onward to other sites. We really enjoyed the tour and our guide (Juan) provided us with a lot of information about the caves, bats, other bugs, plant life, and the cave drawings. We found it very interesting and was a nice putting for the day. If you have some extra time, it is worth a quick stop!

    Great attraction Feb.2023
Had a amazing experience at this small attraction. Only took about an hour to explore the cave but you can take as long as you want. The gentleman at the entrance walked us in and gave us a quick tour and explanation of the history of the cave, then allowed us to tour at our own pace. The cave art was interesting to see, the bats were absolutely phenomenal to watch. You can get there using the HOHO. We’ll worth the $5 bus trip and $5 entrance fee.

Not a long visit but we enjoyed it
We walked to the caves from the Royalton Hicacos in about 5 minutes. It doesn't open till 10am I think. We paid $5 each and the guide showed us the points of interest and then left us to explore ourselves. Lots of bats. Doesn't take too long but worth a visit. We saw a couple of birds on the lake on the way back - ibis and a stilt.

    Cool stop
As a science geek I love stuff like this. Was a short walk from the Blau hotel. Cost was 5 USD. Tour guide walked us through. Was very informative. Once he gives you the tour you are free to explore on your own. Nice and cool in the cave on a hot day.

    Bat cave
Took the tourist bus to the caves. There is a man in the small booth to take your entrance fee of $5 and when everyone is ready he leads you into the cave. The cave is small but very good. The guide is informative and tells you about the cave drawings and more importantly the bats. He shines his light up and you can see hundreds of bats hanging from the ceiling. There are some on their own, some in pairs and in the holes lots cuddled together. Every now and then they fly around the cave, again either on their own or in groups. After talking about the caves and bats the guide leaves you to explore on your own. These caves are definitely worth a visit.

Caves are amazing to walk through. Lots of bats. Old writing on the walls. Very knowledgeable guide. Small charge for entry. We both enjoyed it.

A very good value and unique stop on the HOHO bus. Very worth it - young kids are free, and the lady at the front is knowledgeable about its history, so feel free to ask her any question!

This was a quick stop on a day out and about. The cave art and the bats were very cool. Make sure to spend time talking to the gatekeeper because he has all the stories and you miss an awful lot if you don't have the conversations.
