Dominica is a little island really worth exploring further. Though I only went on a tour, we travelled deep into the mountains, thru the towns, and went snorkelling in the champagne reef. The island is abundant with jungle, and lots of fruits and vegetables growing everywhere wild. Its one big volcano, so evidence everywhere such as water boiling up into... More

I am a cruiser on a sailboat. I had to stop in Dominica for a few days due to weather. I went into town for provisions and was appalled at the panhandlers, unemployment, etc. I will skip Dominica when I travel back north. Not safe.

The island is a rain forest and beaches are black volcanic sands. The road train around the capital was about 2 hours. We went round the back roads and then to a Botanical Garden, which sowed several types of trees and plants, also exotic birds. The guide as very enthusiastic about the island and enjoyed telling us about this island.

They take you to the most beautiful waterfall where you can swim if you want to. Also they have the strongest rum punch! Just wait until after you come back from the waterfall to drink it!!

We were on a cruise so you don't see all that you might like to but you do get a taster which can whet your appetite for more. This lovely island was very different climatically to the other ten as its the only one that felt humid... which I LOVE, the heat reminded me of our most favourite place in... More

on a P&O cruise. no excursions on the island. shared a taxi from the cruise port to Roseau town. around $2 each. discovered it was carnival. fantastic atmosphere and locals. watch out for uneven broken footpaths.

We had done the longer tours to the waterfall, etc., on previous visits, so this time we wanted to sightsee around Roseau and decided to give the trolley tour a try. We enjoyed the open-air ride, and our tour guide was charming. The only problem is that there really isn't a lot to see. We went to the botanical gardens... More
