As I was trying to get there, my guide and I were hit by a tropical rain downpour, It caused a normally accessible creek to turn into an impassible raging river.

I recommend a local guide to stay safe and to be sure you see all- including the hot tub like pools below the valley.

this was an awesome hike. diverse landscape and unique environment due to geo thermal activity. You can boil and egg in some of the hot pots. Make sure you take a spoon to dip it out when it's cooked. If you've made it this far, continue onto the boiling lake

We visited the Valley of Desolation on our way to the Boiling Lake. Together, they make for an excellent hike (about 6 hours). Bring your camera and wear something you can swim in. Your shoes will get soaked.

So much to see and learn about. Don't touch anything without a guide's permission as some things will burn you! Cool change of pace as you hike to Boiling Lake

Not for the faint of heart this trail to get to the valley can have falls of more than a hundred feet and it's advised u go on sunny days to avoid slipping. It's definitely a workout and it's not advised that elderly people do this hike

As you enter, follow the red dots on rocks and arrows all the way through to the other side. To make it simple, walk towards the way all the water is flowing to continue on the path that runs on the right hand side, parallel to the stream. As you enter the valley, look back and make yourself familiar with... More

It takes on average 6 hours to hike to Boiling Lake and back which takes you through the Valley of Desolation. It is incredible to experience. Hurricane Erika really did change the trail. As such, I would recommend hiring a guide familiar with the hike. There are things you would not know about the landscape without one like where to... More

OK the eggs went black but they were still edible. We had a face mask applied, smelled the sulphur and bathed in the warm pools. A wonderful but strenuous experience.
