Lovely building that was built when the country was under a dictator. But looks very impressive with guards outside, plus police officer with whistle moving or stopping traffic

The National Palace and the area next to it is worth visiting. It's probably the calmest place in town, almost no cars, only police guys patrolling the area. Nice for a walk, 10-15 minutes from Zona Colonial/Parque Independencia.

Beautiful presidential palace and gardens. We were not allowed inside but we did get pictures of the grounds , palace and with the guards. Having the military , guns in hand, escorting us across the street was a first for us!
