Bibijagua might be the most active beach. Always crowded, it is far from being relaxing. Nevertheless, it is the right place if you want to explore the real Dominican Republic. It is one of the most active beaches in the Punta Cana area with a massive shopping plaza, watersports, swimming, dining, and a whole vacation experience in one place.

The beach has designated swimming areas to protect you from getting hurt in the regions where boats and windsurfers are adventuring. You can relax on the sand, of course, but the nearby shopping plaza has over 100 stalls with souvenirs, locally made arts and crafts, jewelry, floats, the famed Mamajuana liquor, and swimming gear.

I have stayed at Secret Paradise villa near Corales beach, and I have seen it first hand, if you are not aware, you will feel you are trespassing into some society/resort.

Entrance: Google search for Bávaro Beach Flea Market or Bibijagua Shopping Center- that’s your entrance. I have attached Pic of the entrance here for your convenience.

Parking: at the entrance, there is a barricade that will direct you to park your vehicle/scooter at a designated place. Fee: as per guard wish ;) try 50 or 100 D.Pesos.

We spent the month of February in Punta Cana. Rented a condo less than a 5 minute walk to the to this beach. The beach was clean and not overly crowded, with the exception of a Dominican holiday. Parking is free and the beach is easily accessible bus and Uber.
There are a couple of bars/restaurants on the beach. NOVA is the best! They have a covered patio and also have beach service. Their food is excellent .... truly restaurant quality. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. Excellent bartenders as well .... I definitely recommend a Margarita pitcher.
Their servers are very friendly and efficient. Ivan and Olga in particular get 5 stars from me.

This beach is clean compared to the main beach in Punta Cana. A lot of Dominican families are there. Not many beach vendors which I loved. I highly recommend Nova for a meal and or drinks.

There is a little shopping area to buy the typical souvenir.

All in all we enjoyed a pleasant 4 hours there.

Visited here to purchase some souvenirs, lots of little shops and a couple of places to eat but you do get incredibly hassled whilst browsing. We were met by a man named Francis from our taxi who took us to his shop, he was so friendly to begin with, even gave me a ‘free Keyring’. However, when it came to paying he wanted $20 for a magnet and tiny bottle of sand (literally no bigger than 5cms), we said oh no that’s too much he said $15, we said $10 and then he was not interested in us at all, his friendly attitude completely changed. So I returned the ‘free Keyring and we left. Managed to find exactly the same items from another shop and was charged $5 for both items (we didn’t even haggle the price).

The beach wasn’t that nice, lots of seaweed and rubbish. Unless you’re doing a boat trip from here, it’s not worth the visit.
