This town has a world mix of small restaurants (chinese, italian, spanish, french, dominican, etc) as well as beatiful jogging/bicycle boulevard by the sea and a pier to take a small boat to take you to the beach at Cayo Levantado island 15 minutes away....More

A bit of a long coach journey from Puerto Plata airport but well worth it. On the plus side you get to see some amazing scenery on route.

The bay is pretty with nice opportunities toeat and drink in the evening right next to the water. Also the road has some places but the ones near the water have the ambience.

I really enjoyed Samana. We arrived in town, at near the malecon, stayed at Ballenas Escondidas resort on the bay and saw whales the next day. Amazing time in Samana Bay.

Great Hotel - very clean and comfortable- The food was great, great pool - great beach - entertainment was super - Great staff and animators - very well laid out - room was super - very well treated be the workers - Dominicans rule.
