Hairy ride but worth it

Drove up to the Blue Mountain Coffee factory, and it is not a ride for the faint hearted. But the views are to die for, and the coffee factory is a pleasant experience.

We had been travelling around Jamaica and had 4 days in Kingston. We had planned to do a hike up Blue Mountain but had not realised we needed to book this in advance. I was also not fit to do a walk.Went to Kingston Tourist Office and met an officer called O'Neill. He very helpfully put us in touch with... More

This factory was recommended as having all the aspects of coffee processing available however despite the friendly tour guide who said he has spent the last forty years at the factory's best effort, the tour fell well short. It must have been conceptualized forty years ago and hasn't changed. The first impression on arrival was given by a security guard... More

If you are a coffee buff, you get to see where the famous Jablum JAmican BLUe Mountain (hence the acronym) is produced. If you are not a coffee buff, the experience is a little dry shall we say. The 'tour' (it's more of an inspection) lasted all of a mere 10 minutes (yes...10). One is shown sacks of coffee, a... More

Found this factory while I was wandering through the Blue Mountains. After I paid the entrance fee I got a sample of the coffee and due to I was the only visitor a private tour. It was very interesting to see how this factory produces one of the world most expencsive coffees. You will see all steps, from roasting to... More

We visited on a really quiet day so the two of us took the tour.We were given a cup of the best tasting coffee ever before we started. It was fascinating to see the entire process of coffee making. The factory was small and had different sections and we got to see them all from the coffee beans being dried... More

I'd always been curious about how coffee was really processed, and this tour provided the answer. There were just five people in our group, so there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions, which were answered helpfully. The factory is quite small, and was quiet on the day we visited, but we got a sense of how busy it could... More

One on one experience of coffee grinding, roasting, brewing and tastin tour, sights and smells at the factory are surreal. Meet the farmers in Coffee land, the cold hills of Mavis Bank, close to the Blue Mountains
