This is our last stop on our bus tour. we had to remind our bus driver couple times for this stop. This 1700 Fort was built to defence Jamaica coastal. We got a map from the local "Hop Off, Hop On" shuttle. There were five stops on the route, my husband and I decided to walk from Margaritaville down to the fort since he wanted to see it. Well worth a visit but be prepared for major hassle from the venders across the street trying to sell their carvings. The fort itself isn't fantastic, a couple of canons and butraces that's about it

This is located in the heart of downtown Montego Bay! It is lined with upscale shops and fresh food / fruit market!

There's not much left of the first Fort built in Jamaica (early 1700's). Just 3 cannons and an ammunition building. The cannons were never fired in anger, but one of them killed a gunner when it exploded when fired to celebrate the British capture of Havana.
