We wanted to buy our gifts from locals, and hopefully get some unique hand crafted items. We went to the local market in stead of buying from shops realizing these people are working hard to feed their families and wanted to support them. As soon...More

Had a good time but most booths had the same or similar merchandise. I was looking for local handcrafted merchandise. Aggressive owners and they all had stories on why you should buy from them and if you did buy it was "don't tell anyone i...More

Don't let the pushy vendors make you grumpy, get out of the market and hit the nearby shops. Lots of kitsch here, smoking paraphernalia and wood wall art. Over and over.

you have to visit the local markets while you are visiting Jamaica. You get to see so much that you would never see in the USA. We took an afternoon and just strolled through. Most of the vendors were nice, persistent but nice. Only a...More

Do not come to this flea market unless you are looking for something in particular! Whatever cultural items you may be interested in (even paintings!) are here and with some haggling you will get a good price. OTHER THAN THAT the salespeople here are very...More

Compared to the Malls built for the Cruise Ships, this market is closer to the local culture. Be prepared to select what you want, not what they want to sell you and remember everything has a sale price which you are prepared to pay, walk...More
