We traveled by a small, broken down fishing boat without any life jackets. The two young men that piloted the boat were wonderful and kind. THe ride out and back was $15 american dollars. If you go ask your cab driver to please take you to one of the larger boat taxi businesses so that you can have a safer,... More

It's literally in the middle of the ocean, so the only way to get there is by boat, which can be quite pricey, but once you get there its undoubtedly a once in a lifetime experience. food is cooked on site and is mouth watering. You can even take a dip as the water is quite shallow. The staff there... More

What an eclectic group of people we met here! Everyone was so friendly and conversation flowed! Laid back is an understatement! Went on my 60th birthday and received birthday wishes from Floyd himself, along with a cold Red Stripe! I immediately felt at ease the minute I stepped onto this bar! We didn't eat there so I can't comment on... More

The main thing that got to me was the price to get there on a boat. Stopped one place and they wanted to charge us $20 per person. I'm not even from the US so don't understand this country's ridiculous obsession with the money. Drove along and found a group of kids who said they'd get two of us there... More

Took a trip with girl friends off our resort in Negril. It took us about 1.5 hours. Local fisherman taxied us over. Short trip from the land but well worth it. People of all ages were there. People running the bar were very friendly. Views were amazing

What a great place to slow down and relax. Beer was cold (ice crystals on it), fish was fresh and the vibe was nice. A great afternoon all round!

If you get a chance and you have the time, go for it. The ride there was very scenic and the overloaded sugarcane trucks were frightening. Our private shuttle driver also hired our boat driver, who tried to shake us down for a second payment. Take cash and feel free to haggle for souvenir stuff available. Spent 3 hours there... More

This was the 14th trip to Jamaica so we love the country, people and sites. Floyd's Pelican Bar was a big disappointment though. Honestly I didn't find much special about the Pelican Bar. Yes, it is in a pretty location but the bar itself isn't much more than a kid's tree house over water. We were on a tour and... More

Made the hour and a half drive from Negril to visit the Pelican Bar. Well worth it! Short boat ride and we found ourselves with maybe ten others at perhaps the most interesting bars I've visited. I enjoy dive bars and I think this might be on the top of my list. Had our names carved in the floor after... More
