We have traveled to Jamica a dozen times, and this was our first time to the Pelican Bar. The Pelican is located on a sandbar about a mile out to sea from Treasure Beach, on the south side of Jamaica. There are always local boats...More
Go there...if for no other reason than to have a great meal. The lobster curry is really good! Our tour guide Norris, booked through the Tree House Resort in Negril, arranged everything (boat ride and lunch). It was a great place to stop to eat,...More
Husband and i visited Floyds Pelican Bar for the 2nd time in May, both times we used Captain Dennis for the boat ride, combined with the Black River Sarari tour. I enjoy just being out on the water and a boat ride is always relaxing....More

We visited Pelican Bar while doing the South Coast Tour. It's a unique bar in the ocean on a sandbar. The guys were playing dominos while I swam around in the ocean. It was late in the day so it was very quiet and relaxing...More

There are generally boat operators that will take you out from points on the beach or your resort. We were staying in Treasure Beach at an airbnb and the manager of the place knows boat operators. It cost us $30 US pp to do the excursion. Talk to the staff at your resort, they might be able to set you up. Doing it through a tour thing could be pricier. Have fun, it's a cool experience!
