The raft trip is a local classic so we had to do it. But it is quite long and a bit same. The scenery is gorgeous but all the same. We were lucky to have an excellent boatman who was helpful and fun. But you...More

Sometimes our holidays are too hectic as we arent the sort who do resorts, so inject ourselves with some much needed heavy duty relaxation we booked up with Steve, who rafted us 8 miles down the Rio Grande, expert rafting skills. We had some gorgeous...More

The river rafting is interesting but 2 and 1/2 hours is too long to be out in the sun. The high spot was definitely the great food Belinda cooks in her riverside improv cafe. Crayfish to die for!

Wonderful morning cruise down this lazy river (although I hear it can get a little wild). Stop for lunch/snack mid-way through the cruise - wonderful chicken and dumplings. Unfortunately we were too early for the shrimp soup and the rice and beans. Next time,

The trip was very fun and we got to go through different parts of the Rio Grande on handmade bamboo boats. Slowly going through the water was very relaxing and enjoyable. The one and only concern though was that sitting for 3 hours straight is...More

You'll want to do this at least once in your life. Will experience true relaxation and serenity while floating down the river, between lush tropical plants and mountain views.

We were a group of 6. We each had our own raft with a raised seat. The caretaker of the villa that we stayed at had an umbrella for each couple and a cooler with some drinks and sandwiches. Captain Valentine was our captain and...More

We went rafting with Becky from the beach at Tropical Lagoon Resort! He grew up on the Rio Grande and has been rafting for 44 years and is a wonderful and safe guide! Loved it!

There is a hotel right at the river mouth, on a hill with a beautiful view on the river and to the sea. Good place to start the "rafting" there. Prices are about 60$ a tour, if you do not like to negotiate. Some guys try to... More
