Better than staying on the northeast side of the island(luquillo, San Juan, etc) if you don't mind driving. Beaches are calmer(small waves) less tourist like so it's a little cheaper and more to do and so fun. Roads are horrible and not marked properly but if you have gps or your phone maps app you'll be fine.

We stayed at Las Palmas Villa at Playas del caribe. Located in the most southwest point of Cabo Rojo in Puerto Rico.. This ara is rich with personality and friendship. We had no problem with any of the places we went to. Our condo sits right on the ocean and it also had free use of Kayaks, fishing rods, coolers,... More

I decided to make the trip to this beach after reading all the reviews and was not disappointed, it was the highlight of our trip to PR. Be aware that to get there you have to take a dirt road filled with pot holes but it's so worth it to see this amazing place. The clear water, the various shades... More

We went to Cabo Rojo beach (also called Playa Sucia) after touring the lighthouse that sits on the cliff above. The beach is clean, it's sort of a hidden cove. It's a beautiful beach, blue water, probably one of the nicest I have ever been to. No stores or restaurants so be prepared. Bring food/water/drinks with you. Only spent 1... More

We've been around most of the island and we're undecided to visit Cabo Rojo or Gilligan's Island. We picked Cabo Rojo and we're very happy with the decision. The views and the beach were very nice. It's amazing that this beautiful beach is only a few yards from the salt flats. The beach is the nicest on the island and... More

The locals call it "playa susia " which means, dirty beach. But let me tell you this beach is far from that! It is by far one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. definitely worth the time to check it out! The sand white and so soft. The waters are warm and crystal clear! If you walk far... More

Cabo Rojo is gorgeous with clean beaches, clean sand & a respectable family oriented crowd. Beutiful location and if you want a tranquility atmosphere or party atmosphere you can have them both! Truly paradise Reason for 3 stars: After the nice stretch of beach in Cabo Rojo we met family and friends who were staying in the "government-run" rental cabanas.... More

We traveled from Rincon to explore the cliffs along the coast. Worth the one hour drive. The views were breathtaking. The lighthouse is fun to explore but explore the edge of the cliffs - watch out for holes.
