I spent a week here in late December 2016/Janury 2017. Lots of friendly people, great places to eat and drink. Beautiful downtown plaza. Unfortunately, many former businesses are now vacant. If you want to immerse yourself in true Puerto Rican culture without tourists, this is a nice place to go.

I like the mountains, but the road to Barriquita are small for two way traffic. Everyone drives owning the road. The restautant is in a down hill area with lots of trees. The parking is great and so was the parking attendant.

This is a beautiful town, a lot of fun to visit. It is the birthplace of Luis Muñoz Rivera, a patriot. You should'nt miss it.
