In doing the San Juan walk this gate is a must see. Then to continue on the walkway along the ocean was very pleasant

Great place to sit, take in the views and rest a bit while touring Old San Juan. Incredible to learn the history behind the gates and to think of all the people who have passed through them. Perfect Picture Spot!

I have been to the Gate several times. Most frequently, I travel along the Passea de la Princessa and through the gate to Old San Juan. I believe that this is the last standing gate entrance into the old city and it is certainly worth seeing and reading the historic information near the gate.

Cars are no longer allowed to drive through here , but there is a beautiful paved walk all around the bottom of the old walls , including a walk through the gate.

A landmark of Old San Juan, really nicely kept up. Inside the gate there is a nice little park area, with a water fountain. I leads to the sidewalk along the old city wall, which is a fun walk, it can be quite hot in the afternoon, there is no shade along the way, so bring some water.

At one time, San Juan was a walled city. However, as the city grew much of its wall was demolished and with them all but one of the gates. The remaining gate stands along the channel that runs from the open sea into San Juan harbor. An ancient Banyon tree stands near the gate along the beautiful scenic walk that... More
