We spent 5 days at the El Conquistador and could not get enough of the Palomino Island. The beach and the water is perfect, there are a lot of water sports. You can kayak, paddle boat or jet-ski to smaller sand islands nearby where one of the Pirates of the Caribbean scenes was filmed. The restaurant on the island is... More

It is a nice little island. Nice views and calm-ish waters. Family friendly. It is a trek to get to it, but we didn't mind it. There is food/drinks/etc; expensive but convenient. I have been to the island on two different occasions: The first time was a non holiday in July a few years ago; it was a good day.... More

Spent a couple days at the beach. Short ferry ride over from hotel. The main side can get a bit crowded, but plenty of other areas to get away. Tons to do for all ages or just sit and relax. Hike to the top of hill is gorgeous. We went further to find hidden cove. Did not think this was... More

Just a short ferry ride away from the El Conquistador Hotel (10 mins max), Palomino Island is the perfect island get-away. Crystal clear water, sparkling beaches, a rum bar and a restaurant, and tons of activities for the older souls and younger kids to enjoy! Your visit starts with a 10 minute, very smooth, ferry ride from the marina at... More

This is definitely the crown jewel of the El Conquistador resort. You have to take the elevator to the trams (“express” makes no stop and “local” makes one very short stop) to the marina where you will catch a catamaran to Palomino Island. You’ll get plenty of sun on the island so unless you just really have a hankering to... More

This is a great location for fun with family and friends. Between the watersports activities, the beautiful sand beaches and azure waters of the Caribbean, you cannot go wrong. The food offerings vary but it's hard to mess up a burger or sandwich. The frozen drinks by the water are well worth it!

Fun and relaxing with great service, funny bar tenders with some crazy stories & jokes. Loved the horse back rides, seadoo rentals, and the clothing optional beach (hidden cove). The hike through the island is fun (pack water, it gets hot), and snorkeling in the shallow waters can impress you with a huge variety of sea life. This is definitely... More

We spent 2 days at the island. We were able to get lounge chairs under an umbrella on both days with no problems. Food was very good for lunch and not over priced. There is horse back riding, putt putt golf, pool tables, jet skis & small water crafts to rent, 2 bars, towels are provided when you get off... More
