The Calle San Sebastian is very famous for a celebration that occurs the 3rd weekend of January. In the Celebration you can find all kind of typical things from Puerto Rico like food, dances , music , etc. This is one of the reasons the largest Christmas celebration occurs in the islands.

My wife Marianne and I and her brother Michael and sister-in-law Barbara all visited Old San Juan this past October. It was our third visit to O.S.J. and their first. We stayed at the amazing Gallery Inn which is at the corner of Calle San Sebastian and Call San Justo and were walking distance to almost all of the attractions,... More

For a Very Local feel, take a walk down many Old San Juan streets---with Calle San Sebastian being one of the most popular. The cobblestone street areas are narrow, as are the sidewalks, restaurants are common, and there are occasional events along the way. Forget about the driving hassle and impossible parking----WALK!

In the span of a few blocks, there must be a dozen bars and restaurants, each with its own very distinctive vibe and crowd. From younger clientele and mass market beer, to a great beer-focused tavern, to places with fancy cocktails and hipsters galore, this is a great place to stroll and people watch too.

This street is home of the best festival in all Puerto Rico, in January, San Sebastian Street Festival. Half a million people visit the place during those 2 weeks. Great location in Old SJ
