We stayed at Best Western which is only a few steps from Ashford Avenue. One day we walked south - far into the residential area and admired the neighborhoods and parks. On the following day we walked north and saw all the restaurants, gift shops and fancy hotels. We went into Cartier to look at a $56K necklace and a... More

I wasn't impressed with ashford avenue. Some of the cafes don't want to take credit card and want you to pay cash. You need to ask them upon walking in. Even though, they have the sign that says they accept credit card. They found excuses not to take my credit card.

This street has a lot of high-end shops, hotels, and restaurants, is close to the beach, and is usually busy. There are a lot of the usual brands: Gucci, Baskin' Robbins, etc. It's a good place to sit and people-watch, although things can be a bit pricey.

This street which is only a block off the beach running parallel to it is packed with hotels and restaurants. Condado appears to be the upscale portion of the island.

I was sure to escape the expensive costs of eating at my hotel to see if a deal can be had on Ashford Avenue. I found that for basic standard rice, beans & chicken or pork chops, you could get a good mean for a decent price. But anything with seafood would mean higher prices and disappointment with what you... More

While Ashford Avenue still offers many lovely places, it seems that the newer mall a few miles away has caused some businesses to move. Unfortunately, no one seems to have filled their place.

We stayed at the Plaze Condado (near the end of Ashford), but would venture out at night. Lots of restaurants (most of them quite expensive). There is a park and some smaller, less expensive food stands (Kabana and a Waffle stand). I recommend not driving Ashford on weekend evenings as it gets quite busy. Ubers are quite plentiful, so if... More
