On a recent seven-day vacation to Puerto Rico, we took the drive up into El Yunque on a Sunday afternoon. After inquiring, the ranger at the headquarters informed us that "Big Tree Trail and La Mina Falls," probably represents the top attraction in the park....More

For those without mobility issues and who are reasonably active this path should be easy, otherwise be a bit careful. There are hundreds of stairs. It's beautiful but very narrow and with so many people going up and down you are never alone and there...More

Lots of up and down on this hiking trail. Be sure to wear hiking shoes and not sandals or flip flops. Wear your suit so you can cool off in the waterfall after the hike to the falls. LOTS of people, but still enjoyable and...More

We hiked both ways to get to this waterfall. Both times the falls were crowded - it was wall to wall people. I didn't even take a photo since I would have had 75 people in it. It is a beautiful waterfall, and it is...More

Ok I know it's the rain forest... but man we got soaked. Every hour we got covered with torrential downpours. Ladies, don't make my mistake and show up in shorts and a tank top. We booked our trip through trip advisor and traveled with Omar...More

The trail is paved and that is wonderful for those who don't want to hike on dirt trails or for those who can't. The waterfall is beautiful, but the crowds are insane. We went in around 10AM on a Friday and there were so many...More

I visited La Mina Falls last August 20-6 with my husband and 4yo. Is really worth the hike. Beautiful and breathtaking. The trail is muddy and slippery sometimes. Also, the path can be narrow. But if you do it at a relax and steady pace,...More

They have tours where they will pick you up from your hotel but it's really better to drive up yourself and go at your own pace

She should be fine if she is pretty active. There were people of all shapes and sizes on the path to La Mina. There are also 4 or 5 rest spots, so she can pace herself. There are a few spots that will likely get her a... More
