Media Luna is a very calm beach. A nice place to bring the family. Lots of shade. Lots of sand. Getting here is a little rough and if it has been raining, it can be muddy. Just about a kilometer passed Sun Bay. I personally prefer Blue Beach (La Chiva) but for many, this is a favorite because of the... More

We were very careful but thieves stole our bags right behind our backs while we sat on the beach. Very brazen. One of us was running and almost ran up on them in the act. They dropped bags and disappeared into the jungle. Stole $20 but would have more if we hadn't been right there We had read that this... More

Shallow dirty waters, poky seaweed, it was pretty, but that's all. Waters are not clear. Go to Caracas beach!!!

There are so many GREAT beaches in Vieques. The day we visited Media Luna the water was a bit choppy but such a relaxing beach.

This is the best beach in Vieques for kids. The deepest part of the beach is perhaps knee length. No waves. It's just like in a swimming pool. There are places with tables but you want to be near the water and is best you bring an umbrella to protect you from the sun. It's kind of secluded since you... More

We only passed through on our way to Playa Navio but my teens loved seeing the wild horses nd calfs roaming along the beach and the shady wooded area the lines it. They aren't too skittish so you can walk nearby without scaring them.

Media Luna is part of the Sun Bay beach area (you have to pay $4/car to enter). It's farther off the beaten path... down some dirt roads. But it's a very pretty little stretch and worth the drive.

Rent a kayak for the day or a paddle board - the water is quiet and there's lots of room to play!!! Fun snorkeling too!

this beach is great, you can find some shade or laze in the calm shallow water with the fish! getting to it is a bumpy ride but its worth it! no bathrooms or civilization though so plan accordingly

Media Luna is a cool beach because it is shallow and really warm. You can go out a couple hundred feet before it gets deep so it's perfect for younger children or lazy, fat dudes that want to "rest" in clear, warm water. There are no facilities (Sun Bay is for you), but a unique, beautiful setting to spend a... More
