Think Hemingway not Bond. Off the beaten path. Have a Ron del Barrilito and Coke while watching the ferry come in.

First night in Vieques we walked down to this bar. Met Tom a bartender. He was awesome. Went there on our last afternoon and met Jim another bartender. Loved him too. We also met Dan. If we ever go back we will definitely sit in our bar stools again. They had great fish tacos and chicken wings.

Let me start by stating I had to put Dec 2016 for our visit, we visited in Dec 2015 while on vacation in Puerto Rico. At the time we knew very little of Vieques, and actually had intentions on getting the ferry to Culebra for the day. Even though we arrived at 6 am, we were too far in back... More

Located up the road from the ferry, this spot is awesome for a casual meal and drinks. The bartenders are on top of it and the food is fresh. There is a nice sized deck overlooking the water so you aren't trapped inside. Best Painkillers on the island for sure... Haven't had one? I'm not sure what exactly this frozen... More

The wife and I were out exploring the island and stopped in for a little lunch and a few cocktails. The service was fast and friendly and the view from the outer deck was awesome. Nice place to stop in for a few

We stopped by on a Friday night about 6 pm and it was buzzing already and almost every seat was taken on the patio that overlooks the ocean. We had margaritas and pina coladas that were scrumptious and we really enjoyed the ambiance and beachy theme of the place. This is not a young, hip place. The average age looked... More

We have visited Vieques over 8 times in the last three years and always make a point of stopping by Al's for at least one sunset. Located just minutes from the Ferry this is a great location with great bar food and fantastic prices. Staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Bring your camera!

We love love this place! This joint is the essence of what great beach bars are all about. Cold drinks, really good bar food, open early and close late every day, except Christmas. Amazing sunsets and a Sunday brunch starting at10am. Wendy is number one bartender and waitress! Will definitely be going back to Al's Mar Azul. Urban Cowgill Feb... More
