About

Peaceful and flowery garden
Jan 2021
Very nice garden with surprising flower & tree species.
Walking throughout the garden is a peaceful experience, with encounters with rare flowers and little ponds.

Stunning gardens
Jan 2020 • Couples
This is a great destination for a cruise stop in Martinique. Local bus takes about 20 minutes for 3 euros and entry is further 12 euros. The gardens are beautiful and really well maintained. There is a tree bridge which is fun. The views are stunning. Highly recommend. Easy to do by yourself rather than on an official cruise excursion.

First of all you are greated by the hummingbird feeding station, amazing. However if you are in a group I would suggest moving on and returning later when not so crowded the birds always seem to be there.
The garden is lovely, so many exotics in the middle of a forest, almost jungle, lots of lotus lillies and a tree top walk too.

Beautiful botanical gardens
Feb 2020
We visited on a partle cloudy day in Martinique. We used the local bus service, 3 euros per person, dropped off right outside Balata Gardens entrance. Stunning views, lovely walks on good paths, but may be a little steep for some. We saw the famous Porcelain rose, and lots of other tropical plants. best of all was the humming birds, so beautiful!

Beautiful gardens in the middle of the rain forest.

Exciting drive up into the rain forest! Then arrived at this beautiful botanical garden. Easy to walk around and follow the trail. Saw amazing plants. Loved the suspended walk way up and through the tree tops. Humming birds drinking nectar from very pretty containers. A must visit place!

A feast for the eyes.
Jan 2020
Was on a trip to Martinique that NCL substituted for St. Lucia. Hills go up and down severely--not for those who have mobility issues. The flowers and trees were labeled. Many plants were different varieties of one's common in U.S. Was as enjoyable seeing the flowers as it is at Brookgreen Gardens near Myrtle Beach without the hike.

Well designed and beautiful botanical garden
Feb 2020
This was a good trip, apart from the fact that I came quickly to understand 'Tropical Rain Forest'; it absolutely poured with rain during our visit and there are few hiding places. So the first piece of advice is take umbrella or poncho!
However, it is well worth a visit - well laid out paths through different tropical vegetation. There are some steep rises so it might be hard work for those with ambulatory difficulties.
The suspension bridge is a must, but take care of people who can;t read and try to go the wrong way :-)
Great views of the valleys that the gardens seem to overhang.
It's large and you do need a good time to get around. There is a cafe/restaurant.
Not as good as the Botanical Gardens in Singapore, but a close second!
If you do go to Martinique, I do recommend a visit.

Great chance to see exotic flora of Caribbean
Feb 2020 • Friends
It was a pleasure to visit this place! You can see plenty of exotic flowers and plants, and the best were colibris drinking nectar just by the entrance. Please be aware that last admission is at 4:30 (you can stay untill 6 p.m.). 1-1,5h is enough to see everything.
