Great view to just stand & watch the volcano . Good informative film to view for 20-30 mins which runs every 15 mins after the hour.

Photos aren't allowed at this museum. It's their right, but for that reason alone I wouldn't come back. They do have a few more pictures of the actual eruptions than the Hilltop cafe and a bit of educational material - if you've got time go, if not - enjoy other places.

When we arrived we were shown in to watch a video about plymouth, the eruption and what the MVO do. It was fascinating and informative. We were then shown down in to where they monitor the volcano. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly and answered all of our questions. we had an amazing view of the volcano and really... More

Definitely worth the trip. The movie really helped us better understand what happened on the island. Staff was very helpful and we had the good fortune of meeting and speaking with on of the volcanologists who was working at the observatory. Do wish there were more substantial exhibits.

The MVO has a great video focusing on some of the area before, during, and after the series of eruptions. With a great view of the volcano, the MVO is a simple, yet effective way to learn about the incredible forces of nature.

This is a real science facility monitoring the volcano for the island. They have a film that is really worth the small price, and posters from scientific meetings with various interesting bits of information if you have a technical bent. There is a cabinet of curiosities from the eruptions. And of course you overlook the volcano and the remains of... More

The main attractions at the observatory are the views of the Soufriere Hills volcano and the excellent video that is played for visitors. The video shows great footage of Plymouth before, during and after the various eruptions. It explained what happened very clearly and gave us a good insight into what the people of Monsterrat have been through over the... More

There is a film that has been produced by David Lea and shows the city of Plymouth both before and after the volcanic activity of the recent years. We enjoyed seeing what was a historical period before the devastation and knowing that it was filmed without forethought of what a few short years in the future would hold.

Observatory is a must see stop while visiting the island. It provides a good history of the volcano and geology. Don't miss the video
