Nice little zoo. Good for the kids

Nice little zoo for small kids. Can get very close to the animals. We didn't have little children with us but there were other people who did. The kids were having a great time.

Small and friendly zoo. Great for kids since they let you feed crackers to the animals. Don't expect a classic zoo with lions, tigers and bears, but a more local version where it is apparent that the owner means the best for the animals. All in all a great way to spend your time if you manage your expectations. There... More

We decided to take the day off from lying on the beach, happily we did some sightseeing and visited the zoo was a very pleasant way to spend an hour or so enjoyed chatting with the new owner and seeing all the animals and birds and crawly things and some that inhabit the island,as we ran across some walking from friar... Easy taxi ride (too far to walk from cruise terminal) a small zoo can be seen in an hour we really enjoyed it. Animals look well cared for, plenty of clean water, and they seemed interested in the human visitors. Some like the big tortoises happy to walk up to you and have pictures taken. Iguanas and lizards wandering about... More

Not your typical zoo ... but rather a family run, family friendly excellent collection of species native to St. Maarten's. With a truly amazing collection of parrots, macaws, and many other exotic birds ... plus the monkeys, turtles, iguanas, etc. A distinct change from most of the typical Caribbean cruise excursions, and well worth the time. The French owner also... More

An excellent example of one mans desire to help preserve animal species local to St Maarten and other local areas. The project is developing and expanding as a tourist attraction and offers visitors an insight into animal conservation. Well worth a visit.

This little zoo is privately owned and a fun experience. Many local birds, monkeys, turtles, etc. the couple that owns it also takes in animals that have been abandoned. The zoo was heavily damaged some years back due to a hurricane, and this couple bought it and are in the process of restoring it.

The St.Maarten zoo park is well worth visiting. Run by a Frenchman with a great love for the animals of the Caribbean and South America it focuses on creatures such as parrots (especially macaws), monkeys (Tamarins and vervets), lizards of many sorts that run fairly freely around the park, cabybara, peccary, reptiles (turtles, snakes) etc. It's very colourfully presented and...
