Gingerbread Gallery is Haitian Art Gallery owned for more than 30 years by family Seitre. Simone Seitre was a passionate collector who bought from famous artists in the 80's and 90's directly in Haiti. Result is an amazing collection of paintings, sculptures, decorations. Something to find for everybody in a very wide range of prices.

We entered from the back street and the helpful lady operating the gallery had to walk the length of the property to let us inside. She was quite friendly and very knowledgeable regarding the local artists represented in the collection. We spent quite a bit of time and she was patient and helpful for our entire visit. We were walking on the marina side of the gallery and the woman inside opened the "back door" so we didn't have to go around to the street entrance. Very kind. The gallery is interesting with lots of Haitian art and some local artists' work as well.

Haïtian Art is fully represented in this exceptional gallery thanks to a total and magnanime commitment of its regretted founder Simone Seitre. She was one the first promoters of this exceptional art, which is full of life, energy and imagination and has been designed by hopeful and marvellous haïtian creators allowing us to escape from material realities for a while.... I discovered Haitian native painting thanks to the founders of this gallery, Simone Seitre and her son Roland, some years ago. With my family, we pay a visit there each time we are on holidays in this area. This place is the evidence of years of dedication to Haitian native painting. Madame Seitre has unrelentingly sourced painters, invested in their... More

We encountered this gallery by accident: we had no idea there was a Haitian art gallery on St Maarten. I collect Haitian art, too: I have 233 paintings by that country's artists -- and I began collecting a decade before this gallery's founder. In my estimation the Gingerbread Gallery has one of the finest collections anywhere, better than most in... More
